Syria: US/UK/Saudi Arabia Want Assad Out

This from LaRouche PAC.

How Saudis Are Working Obama Over To Attack Syria

August 27th, 2013 • 8:47 AM
An AP article carried by the Wall Street Journal [1] on Aug. 26 shows the role of Saudi intelligence chief Bandar bin-Sultan in leading the Obama administration, with the help of some of U.S. legislators, to attack Syria and remove Bashar al-Assad. Bandar did all that because "he could deliver what the CIA couldn't: planeloads of money and arms, and, as one U.S. diplomat put it, wasta, Arabic for under-the-table clout."
It is evident that the plan was put into motion months ago when Bandar began "jetting from covert command centers near the Syrian front lines to the Élysée Palace in Paris and the Kremlin in Moscow, seeking to undermine the Assad regime," Arab, American, and European officials told the authors. The target of Bandar was the Damascus suburbs as part of the "southern strategy" of the Saudis for strengthening the rebels in that area where the chemical weapons have been allegedly used recently.
Bandar, who was involved in the 1980s Contra operation— drugs for arms—does not visit Washington, but brings in influential U.S. legislators to Turkey and Saudi Arabia to make his case. It is his wasta, again.
He is the closest Saudi confidant of the new CIA chief, John Brennan, who has been in periodic contact by phone with Prince Bandar, officials told the authors. Bandar found early support from Republican Sens. John McCain of Arizona and Lindsey Graham of South Carolina. He set up a rare one-on-one meeting for one of them, then-Sen. Ben Nelson (D., Neb.), with King Abdullah in Riyadh. Sen. Nelson said he told the king that if regional powers pulled together with a common strategy, it would be easier for the U.S. to become a partner.
"In September 2012, Sens. McCain and Graham, who were in Istanbul, went to a meeting at an opulent hotel suite on the banks of the Bosporus. Mr. McCain said he made the case to Prince Bandar that the rebels weren't getting the kinds of weapons they needed, and the prince, in turn, described the kingdom's plans. The senator said that in succeeding months he saw a 'dramatic increase in Saudi involvement, hands-on, by Bandar,'" the article said.
Also, when U.S. intelligence agencies saw worrisome signs that Iran, Hezbollah, and Russia, in response to the influx of Saudi arms, were ramping up support to Assad, Bandar used his wasta. With the Senate Foreign Relations Committee ready to back arming the rebels, Bandar turned his attention to skeptics on the House and Senate intelligence committees. Saudis arranged a trip for committee leaders, which included Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D- Calif.), to Riyadh, where Prince Bandar laid out the Saudi strategy. "It was a reunion of sorts," officials told the authors.
In Washington Bandar works through Saudi Ambassador to Washington Adel al-Jubeir, who, according to the article, has used his access to policy makers, including the President, to push the message that U.S. inaction would lead to greater Middle East instability down the road, American officials told the authors.

"Drinking More Koolaid: Where Is the Proof in Syria?''

August 27th, 2013 • 9:13 AM
This morning, Col. Patrick Lang (USA, Ret) posted the following item on his website [1], delivering a strong condemnation of the drive for war against Syria. The following is the text:
"I wrote "Drinking the Koolaid." It was published in "Middle East Policy" in 2004. The article is analysis of the deliberate deception employed by the Bush Administration in lying the United States into war with Iraq.
"The same methods are being used now to drag the American people into another Middle Eastern war. The corporate, self-serving media are leading the effort to "brainwash" Americans into acceptance of war against Syria.
"The latest polling indicates that there is little support among Americans for ANY KIND of military intervention in Syria. Perhaps people are tired of being lied to.
"I seldom agree with Eliot Cohen but he has an opinion piece linked to below in today's Washington Post in which he sensibly makes the point that Air Power is a brittle instrument and that the use of any level of missile strike against Syria will inevitably lead to greater and greater measures in order to avoid the appearance of weakness that failure of effect will create. Richard Haas, president of the CFR, said today that polling indicating a 25% level of support in the USA for intervention is flawed because the polling might suggest a big war and Haas thinks it will be a small war.
"Where is the proof that the Syrian government killed all these people in the eastern suburbs of Damascus? Where is the proof? Show us the proof. The Obama Administration says it has no doubt. This is a matter of war and peace, of life or death. Show us the proof. Senator Corker stated this weekend that all the social media indicate that the Syrian government is guilty. Is that the proof? Social media?
"'Based on photographs, videos and witness accounts that emerged last week, U.S. officials said they have little doubt that Assad's forces carried out the attack.'
"Is that the "proof?"
"We can't be shown the proof because of "sources and methods?" BS. The USG was eager to display satellite photography before it invaded Iraq. Let's see the incriminating pictures. Do they have SIGINT indicating a command to use to such weapons? Issues of war and peace require the disclosure of intelligence secrets. Do the rebels say that the government did it? That would be interesting.
"Is there a "Syria Group" to match the Bushies "Iraq Group?" pl."

Lavrov at Emergency Press Conference on Syria: West Is on a "Dangerous and Slippery Path"

August 27th, 2013 • 9:06 AM
Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov yesterday held a previously unscheduled press conference [1], to speak to "what is happening in and around Syria." Opening it, he stated the Russian government's position: "We are extremely concerned about the current situation. Hysteria is brimming over and a confrontation is being incited over allegations that the Syrian government used chemical weapons on August 21 in Huta. Under this pretext, there is a massive buildup of military assets in the region, as well as calls and even threats to use military force against the Bashar al-Assad regime. Washington, London, and Paris are officially stating that they have incontrovertible information and proof that the Syrian authorities are guilty. They cannot now produce such proof, yet they are saying more and more loudly that a 'red line' has been crossed and that there must be to further delay."
Lavrov said that these statements run counter to the G8's Loch Erne agreement [2] that any accusations about chemical weapons use should be meticulously investigated by the United Nations. Concerning the recent incident, Lavrov said that such investigation must include the numerous reports circulating in the Internet, such as charges that the chemical-attack photos appeared online before it was supposed to have happened. He questioned why the Western powers have suddenly become so concerned about the preservation of evidence, in contrast to the lack of such concern last March when insurgents fired a poison-loaded missile in Khan al-Asal.
Like many Russian officials and commentators, Lavrov asked what interest the Assad government would have had in using chemical weapons at the very moment it had welcomed the UN expert mission of Ake Sellstrom to Damascus. He said it was also suspicious at the coincidence of the chemical attack with Russian-American preparations for their latest consultations on convening a Geneva Conference. "On the whole, the course of events confirms that the minute the slightest chance appears of a political settlement process taking hold, attempts are made at regime change by force, in order to subvert these chances." Lavrov reviewed a chronology showing the willingness of the Syrian government to take part in talks for a peaceful resolution of the conflicts in the country.
The Russian foreign minister described his call to Secretary of State John Kerry, urging coordinated efforts to bring all parties in Syria into a peace process. This is far preferable, he added, to "what we have experienced in the cases of Iraq and Libya. In no instance has armed outside intervention led to the restoration of security or the improvement of life for a country, or to stabilization of the region as a whole. On the contrary, the region has now been destabilized to a practically unprecedented degree."
Asked whether Russia has a "Plan B", including military action, in the event the West intervenes unilaterally, Lavrov replied: "The use of force without UNSC authorization is a gross violation of international law. ... I underscore again that, even if we set aside the legal and moral side of the matter, the specific consequences of outside intervention, not sanctioned by the international community, can only lead to a sharp deterioration of the situation in a country that supposedly needs to be saved from dictatorship so that democracy may be established. I have heard with great alarm the statements coming from Paris and London, that NATO could intervene to destroy chemical weapons in Syria without UNSC authorization. This is a very dangerous and slippery path, and one onto which our Western partners have already stepped several times. I hope that common sense may still prevail."
Lavrov said that "the true motives of our Western partners are difficult to understand," given the outcomes of intervention in Iraq and Libya. He said he had asked Kerry directly, "What is your plan?" but that the latter's reply had been "narrow" — another demand for Russia and China to help stop the spread of chemical weapons.
A couple of years ago, Lavrov said, leaders in the West were constantly demanding that Russia and China get onto "the right side of history," referring to democratization. "Somehow, for the last six months or year, I don't remember anybody talking about 'the right side of history' any more." The outcome of the unrest in the Middle East is unpredictable, said Lavrov, but "if somebody conceived of this as a process of 'managed chaos,' only the second of those two words remains." He said that even if there is no "plot" behind all the West's activities in the region, the current apparently ad hoc policies, instead of "the comprehensive and logical policy that is needed," are leading to crazy decisions: "As I told my friend [French Foreign Minister] L. Fabius, the French in Mali helped fight against terrorist groups, which the French themselves had armed and supported in Libya."
Lavrov reported that Kerry had promised, after their "lengthy" conversation on Aug. 25, "to study our arguments carefully once again." The foreign minister's press conference included detailed discussion of many specific political elements of the Syrian political situation, as well as evidence and contradictions involved in the Aug. 21 chemical attack.

THE END OF THE LONDON/RIYADH TERROR AXIS

Overview

The U.S. remains under threat of future attacks not simply because of terrorist elements themselves, but due to the continuing complicity of President Barack Obama and his predecessor George W. Bush, in covering up for the British-Saudi elements that made 9-11 possible. If another major terrorist attack like what happened to the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, or the armed assault on the Benghazi, Libya U.S. Mission occurs, you can blame it on George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and the British and Saudi monarchies. The wellspring of all significant international terrorism today is the Anglo-Saudi imperial alliance, expressed most vividly in the 1985 Al-Yamamah arrangements between London and Riyadh that persist to this day.
The contents of this page are composed with material to provide the public with an in depth knowledge of the true perpetrators of both, and perhaps future, 9/11 attacks. NB: This page will be updated regularly.

Enemies of Humanity 7: The Green Movement

This is taken from The Green Agenda...

We should all want to be wise and careful stewards of the beautiful planet we call home. But most of us realise that humans in general are not being good stewards. We are wasteful with our natural resources and have reduced biodiversity. Therefore, when we read about groups and organisations calling for a 'green revolution' and a new relationship between humanity and nature it is easy to agree with their ideas.

However, certain aspects of the modern green movement that is permeating every segment of our society are not about protecting the environment. You don’t have to dig very deep to discover the true beliefs of the influential leaders who are using genuine concerns about the environment to promote an agenda of fear and control. Please carefully consider the implications of the opinions that they so openly and freely express:

"The common enemy of humanity is man.
In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up
with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming,
water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill. All these
dangers are caused by human intervention, and it is only through
changed attitudes and behavior that they can be overcome.
The real enemy then, is humanity itself

more than 500 million but less than one billion

"One America burdens the earth much more than
twenty Bangladeshes. This is a terrible thing to say.
In order to stabilize world population,we must eliminate
350,000 people per day. It is a horrible thing to say,
but it's just as bad not to say it

"The earth is literally our mother, not only because we depend on
her for nurture and shelter but even more because the human
species has been shaped by her in the womb of evolution....
Our salvation depends upon our ability
to create a religion of nature

- Rene Dubos,

"Each element, plant, insect, fish and animal
represents a certain aspect of Gaia's - and our - being.
In a way, we are Gaia's intelligence and awareness
- currently lost in self-destructive madness.
We must acknowledge, respect and love her for being
the Mother she is to us or we deny our very selves.
Nurture the Mother as she nurtures us
."
- Prof. Michael J. Cohen,
Ecopsychologist

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"It is the responsibility of each human being today to
choose between the force of darkness and the force of light.
We must therefore transform our attitudes, and adopt a renewed
respect for the superior laws of Divine Nature.
"
- Maurice Strong,
first Secretary General of UNEP
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"The spirit of our planet is stirring!
The Consciousness of Goddess Earth
is now rising against all odds,
in spite of millennia of suppression,
repression and oppression inflicted on Her
by a hubristic and misguided humanity.

The Earth is a living entity, a biological organism
with psychic and spiritual dimensions.
With the expansion of the patriarchal religions
that focused on a male God majestically
stationed in Heaven ruling over the Earth and the
Universe, the memory of our planet's innate Divinity
was repressed and banished into the
collective unconscious of humanity.
"
- Envision Earth

"
Still more important is the implication that the evolution of
homo sapiens, with his technological inventiveness and his
increasingly subtle communications network, has vastly increased
Gaia's range of perception. She is now through us awake and aware
of herself. She has seen the reflection of her fair face through the
eyes of astronauts and the television cameras of orbiting spacecraft.

Our sensations of wonder and pleasure, our capacity
for conscious thought and speculation, our restless curiosity and
drive are hers to share. This new interrelationship of Gaia with man
is by no means fully established; we are not yet a truly collective
species, corralled and tamed as an integral part of the biosphere,
as we are as individual creatures. It may be that the destiny of
mankind is to become tamed, so that the fierce, destructive, and
greedy forces of tribalism and nationalism are fused into a
compulsive urge to belong to the commonwealth of all
creatures which constitutes Gaia.
"
Sir James Lovelock,
Gaia: A New Look At Life

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Little by little a planetary prayer book is
thus being composed by an increasingly united
humanity seeking its oneness
. Once again,
but this time on a universal scale, humankind is
seeking no less than its reunion with 'divine,'
its transcendence into higher forms of life. Hindus
call our earth Brahma, or God, for they rightly
see no difference between our earth and the divine.
This ancient simple truth is slowly dawning again upon
humanity, as we are about to enter our cosmic age
and become what we were always meant to be:
the planet of god
."
- Robert Muller,
UN Assistant Secretary General
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

"What if Mary is another name for Gaia? Then her capacity for
virgin birth is no miracle . . . it is a role of Gaia since life began . . .
She is of this Universe and, conceivably, a part of God. On Earth,
she is the source of life everlasting and is alive now;
she gave birth to humankind and we are part of her
."
- Sir James Lovelock,
Ages of Gaia

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Nature is my god. To me, nature is sacred;
trees are my temples and forests are my cathedrals.
"
- Mikhail Gorbachev,
Green Cross International
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"The spiritual sense of our place in nature...
can be traced to the origins of human civilization....
The last vestige of organized goddess worship
was eliminated by Christianity.
"
- Al Gore,Earth in the Balance

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Christianity is our foe. If animal rights is to succeed,
we must destroy the Judeo-Christian Religious tradition
."
- Peter Singer, founder of Animal Rights
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"I pledge allegiance to the Earth and all its sacred parts.
Its water, land and living things and all its human hearts
."
- Global Education Associates,
The Earth Pledge

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"By fostering a deep sense of connection to others and to the earth
in all its dimensions, holistic education encourages a sense of
responsibility to self to others and to the planet.
"
- Global Alliance for Transforming Education
"The earth is not dead matter. She is alive.
Now begin to speak to the earth as you walk.
You can speak out loud, or just talk to her in your mind.
Send your love into her with your exhalation. Feel your
heart touching upon the heart of the planet. Say to her
whatever words come to you: Mother Earth, I love you.
Mother Earth, I bless you. May you be healed. May all
your creatures be happy. Peace to you, Mother Earth.
On behalf of the human race, I ask forgiveness
for having injured you. Forgive us, Mother Earth
Argentina V The Bankers: Europe, Take Note.
Argentina, under the stewardship of Nestor and Cristina Kirchner, has followed opposite economic policies to European nations.
Argentina negotiated a restructuring of their debt obligations rather than impose austerity measures on the population.
Argentina's debt to GDP ratio has fallen from over 150% in 2003 to around 45% in 2013 (Spain's has risen from 30% to 120% in the same period).
Youth unemployment in Argentina has fallen from around 36% in 2003 to 19% in 2013 (Cyprus youth unemployment has gone from 9% to 35% in the same period).
Argentina's economic philosophy:
  • People come before banks.
  • Economic production should replace monetary speculation.
  • National sovereignty should prevail over globalisation.
Nester Kirchner, April 2005:
"There is life after the (International Monetary) Fund and it is a good life."
Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner, March 2013:
" How can it be that they want to sacrifice entire nations to small groups that — like these vulture funds — want to impose conditions on the whole world?  I don’t understand it.”
 (The issue is whether the world’s leaders and governments) “will permit a handful of (predators), who can fit in the palm of my hand, to ruin the whole world —
societies with millions of unemployed, homeless, people committing suicide, who lose their jobs, can’t go to school, have no homes — or whether they’re going to put their societies, their people, their countries, their history, and their patrimony, first. This is what’s at stake today in the world. You have to understand this!”
November 2011:
 “Are we going to keep financing the brokers who only produce financial derivatives, or
are we going to finance those who produce food, goods, and services? This is key.”
 “We don’t need austerity policies, but growth policies.  You have to tackle the financial sector so it supports the productive sector, so we can create jobs, so there will be more consumption in the whole world, so we can once again reestablish balance and sanity . . . which many important leaders with great institutional responsibilities appear to have lost.”
Since 2003, the Kirchner administrations have increased investment in science and technology by 937% and repatriated almost 1,000 scientists.
Since 2005, Argentina’s economy has grown at a rate of 8% annually, making it the country with the
second highest growth in the world after China. It has created over 4 million productive jobs; renationalised
the AFJP pension funds privatised by former President Carlos Menem, the IMF’s darling; renationalised the
formerly state-owned YPF oil company; and inspired youth to take responsibility for their nation’s future.
The Bankers: Destroyers and Murderers...
The Oligarchy control the world via their corrupt financial system.  Their tools are the banks, marshaled by organisations such as the IMF (International Monetary Fund), the World Bank and the BIS (Bank of International Settlements).
Since 2008, when the entire system came close to collapse, what has been the result of their answer to the problems created, namely "austerity"?
Germany: Those classified a "poor" live 11 years less than those classified as "rich".
UK: People living in Calton, a poor area of Glasgow, have a life expectancy of 54 years.  Those living in Lenzie, a prosperous area of the city, live to 82.
Greece: Unemployment 27%; youth unemployment 64.2%; homelessness up by 25%; still births up by 22%; suicide rate up 27%; prostitution up by 150%; total population down by 10%; birth rate down by 10%.
Cyprus: Savers robbed of 70% of their deposits; economy shrinking by 60%; unemployment expected to reach 40% by 2015; electricity consumption lowest figure for 10 years.
Italy: birth rate down 2011-12; death rate up 2011-12; population down 79,000 in one year (population of a small city); youth unemployment up by 45%; unemployment up to 12.2%; health expenditures down 1.9%; available hospital beds down 15%; manufacturing down 26-48% depending on the type of good; relative and absolute poverty rates substantially up.
Spain: Unemployment up 10%+ from 2008-2011; percentage of government spending devoted to servicing debt up 13% from 2009-13; total government spending down 16% in the same period.
Does it sound like these measures are making things better or worse?
Does it look to you like these measures are leading to recovery?
Or does it appear these measures are actually designed to reduce population and economic activity?
Meanwhile, the US military are becoming concerned about China's growing role in the world and are contemplating a strategy which they admit has the possibility of leading to a nuclear exchange.
Please support Lyndon LaRouche and his call to adopt Glass-Steagall legislation in the US and other countries.  It may be the only thing that can save us.
